AFLAC? | ||
|
I am a devoted lurker and being an (apparent) airhead, I have never been able to decipher AFLAC. I know it is referring to abs class, but what are the initials for? Could we add that to the acronym & nickname sections?

Re: AFLAC? | ||

AFLAC is actually an insurance company that advertises on US television channels. The HGs are doing a take-off of a "talking" duck that AFLAC uses in their commercial campaign that goes around in various scenes and says "AF-LAC" in a "quack-quack" sort of way. The HGs are apparently saying ABS-CLASS but it sounds like the AFLAC duck saying "AF-LAC."
In all honesty, the AFLAC duck comercials are very cute, very creative and very very funny! PS ALFAC is headquartered in Alabama, Jason's home state. |

theschnauzers, mind if I steal your explanation (credited, of course) for the Acronyms & Nicknames thread?

Veto power | ||

Can the person who has POV take themselves off the chopping block? (if they are the ones nominated that week?)

Re: Veto power | ||

Nope, Tamcarroll. If a nominated hamster wins the POV, he/she can only veto the other nominee.

Re: AFLAC | ||

I think this is one of those cases where it is different to read the recaps and actually see the live feeds.I LOVE those commercials, but instead of thinking AFLAC, I was reading it as A-F-L-A-C! I even work for an insurance company. I should know better! :)

In the Abbreviations and Acronyms thread, I guess someone had better update the HOH listing now, since Chi DID win HOH!
Hee! The hypothetical situation actually happened! |

Question | ||
|
When they say that somebody voted for somebody, i.e. "Chiara voted for Lisa," does that mean that they voted for that person to leave or stay?

Re: Question | ||

aristostrata, I'm seeing no rhyme or reason to the way people word that particular phrase. I've seen it both ways. Officially, they say "I'm voting to evict Meggin" while they are in the diary room but when they are out of the diary room it depends on the context as to what they really mean. And it appears to be the same way with the recappers. Hope that helps.

Missed something | ||
|
I've noticed a new abbreviation showing up in the recaps - POD. What does that mean?
Thanks! |

Re: Missed something | ||

KatieKakes, POD is the shortened version of Princess of Darkness which Lisa proclaimed herself on last nights show. I've added it to the Nicknames and Acronyms thread.

Calling all Admins and Mods...
|
Can we start a thread like the BB Diversions on TWoP that features the Amazing Adventures of Fisty the Hamster Slut? We posters could add to the story to keep it going like the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Of course, I'm not talking about a full Diversions thread--I know you already have more than enough to read everyday--Just this one topic.
I've just been thinking about it and the possibilities crack me up. |

You're not thinking about placing Fisty in any compromising positions, are you? Because he's not that kind of hamster slut.

Do positions get any more compromising than that spinning thing he does every day?

Now there's and idea....
And not just with the spinning, but with the spread-eagle spinning! |

Penalty nominations | ||
|
Exactly what are "penalty nominations"? I see it mentioned whenever ChiWhora forgets to put on her mike and BB has to remind her 50 times a day.
Is this something made up or an actual rule on BB? |

Re: Penalty nominations
|
In theory, penalty nominations are a punishment imposed by the producers for violation of the BB rules. This is believed to mean that the particular houseguest becomes one of the nominees for that week's eviction vote. How this works with a POV scenario is another good question. We really don't know for certain, as it has yet to happen!

Penalty Noms. | ||
|
They are something real. I don't think they've ever been issued though. Maybe in BB1, but I didn't watch then.
BB will nominate a third person if that person fails to heed the microphone rule, eats food while on the PB&J diet, or breaks some other house rule like excessive singing. Now, keep in mind that ChiaSlut is reminded all the freaking time about her microphone and she hasn't been nominated yet, so BB doesn't really use it unless in extreme cases. I mean, how would that look to the home viewer...I can just imagine Julie on Thursday night: "HOH Chiara forgot to wear her microphone while walking to the kitchen and had a conversation that we couldn't hear...In a stunning "new" twist, BB has penalty nominated Chiara along with Josh, the waiter, and Roddy, the thinker. Let's see what happens....Hello Houseguests!" |

What happened to TWoP? | ||
|
All weekend long, I've been trying to get into TWoP. Every time, I can't get in. Is there some kind of problem or is it just me?
